For many years we have been told that the Vario is soon coming to end of life, more so when the introduction of Euro 5 was taking place. However news from the manufacturer is that the Vario range is to continue and is undergoing a facelift and will receive a new drivetrain. With Euro 6 approaching changes will have to be made with the introduction of a new engine for the model featuring new exhaust technology that will supplement the SCR technology and meet the new standards. production of the Vario will continue in the Ludwigsfeld plant.

This news has been welcomed by many midi-coach builders across Europe, many of whom supply vehicles to our market eg Optare, UNVI, and INDCAR. Our own local conversions companies will too wlecome this outcome as it allows them to continue offer the model as part of the product range.
